Diagnostic Ultrasound
What is diagnostic ultrasound?
Diagnostic ultrasound is a pain-free tool that provides detailed, real time images of muscles, tendons, ligaments, nerves, bursas, bones and more. It is a helpful tool in accurately diagnosing or ruling out injury. Not only that, it is very safe and does not require radiation, allowing for no negative side effects.
What can you expect?
Your physical therapist will apply a small amount of gel to the area to be scanned. They will use an ultrasound device to scan over the tissue, which send the images directly to a display, which both you and the physical therapist can look at. Your therapist, with their expert knowledge of joint and muscles, will review the images and discuss their findings with you, the patient. From there, a diagnosis and treatment options will be discussed for best possible outcomes.
Request an appointment, and let’s get your pain taken care of. No referral is needed.
